Laurie Coolbeth grew up on a dairy farm in Walden, Vermont and has lived in Cabot since 2003. She made a few quilts as gifts in the 80’s, but her love for quilting really started after moving to Cabot and having many free hours in the evenings to fill. She loves the process of selecting a pattern and deciding which fabrics to use She uses many different techniques to cut the pieces and enjoys sitting down at her old 1950’s Singer 301 to do the sewing. She’s lost track of how many quilts she has pieced and tied.

In 2011, Laurie purchased a longarm quilting machine allowing her to make many quilts from start to finish. She also started her quilting business at that time to finish quilts for customers.

One of her favorite things to do is to go on a quilt retreat with 10 of her crazy quilting friends. You can find her in her studio most evenings and weekends, and now that she is retiring she will be there even more.
